DreamBlankets is 20-channel sound installation.
20 speakers are crocheted into a cohesive blanket with each speaker playing a different cassette tape loop of modulating audio frequencies. The cassette tape loops range in length from 5 seconds to 3 minutes and are played on portable cassette tape players run through 20 amplifiers.
This piece was first installed at A Little Display, a domestic gallery space curated by John Blanco in November 2005. Extra cassette tapes were available for participants to change the sounds. A recording from the first installation was released on Diagnosis...Don't Recordings in 2006.
The audio for Dreamblankets has evolved though various live performances over the past 3 years and I am currently working on a full-length album.
